Hosted on the Friday evening, the Elite Yearling Auction will once again offer a selection of World Class show jumping prospects from leading breeders across the UK & Europe. This year’s vendors include renowned breeders Millfield Stud, Davenport Stud, Dutch Sport Horse Sales and Crown Stud. With breeding highlights from top class stallions, and a strong emphasis once again made on ‘Black Type’ dam lines, the class of 2019 is an outstanding collection of yearlings.
Nina Barbour explains: “We are very proud of what we have achieved with this auction, where we put an emphasis on black type dam lines. This year, we will be returning to our original format, showcasing an elite selection of top potential yearlings. Yearlings in June are at a great age for serious buyers and are able to demonstrate a good idea of their raw talent over a pole”.
Set in the prestigious International Arena against the backdrop of Bolesworth Castle, the Elite Yearling Auction is excited to showcase many of the best show jumping lines including Kannan, Emerald and Cornet Obolensky to name but a few. One particularly special filly is lot number 10, ‘One Rock Star’ by legendary sire Big Star. This filly is also uterine sister to three 1.60m performers- Newton Abbot, Glen Devon and Newton Nickel- with an additional three siblings competing at 1.40-1.50m, a very rare opportunity to buy from such a star studded dam line!
