The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show, which is taking place from 14th to 18th June, located 10 miles south of Chester, is fast becoming the firm favourite on the European showjumping circuit.
Offering a huge range of entertainment, the event once again invited primary schools across the region to their educational and fun School's Day on Thursday 15th June.
Following on from last year's success, the totally free of charge School's Day was open to every primary school in the North West and welcomed 750 children to day two of the show. Aimed at introducing this ever-expanding event to a wider audience, the day gave children the opportunity to experience the top-class sporting event, including; Dressage Championships and International Showjumping.
In addition to the featured equine events in the international and castle arenas, there were numerous educational and fun activities taking place throughout the day, including two incredible Pro Wakeboarding displays for schools and several workshops hosted by The Brooke (Action for Working Horses and Donkeys).
A highlight of the day was the book reading by author, Hannah Russell, and her miniature pony, Little Alf, who entertained the school children with extracts from her book, 'The magical adventure of Little Alf- the discovery of a wild pony'.
Nina Barbour, Founder and President of The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show comments: "Once again we absolutely loved welcoming school children from all over the region to Bolesworth. It's fantastic to be able to show them top-class sport from international riders, as well as seeing them enjoy all the other activities the show has to offer."
With top international showjumpers, dressage riders and Olympic medalists, who will be competing in the magnificent main show arenas, the event provides children and adults alike with a perfect introduction to this exciting sport. Still to come is fantastic family entertainment in the form of the Freestyle Motorcross Display, International Wakeboarding competition and Flyboarding Displays on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June.
Tickets are available to purchase on the gate, with under 12's receiving free admission all weekend.
